I took a special topics class with Prof. MacIntyre.   We had a lot of toys to play with.  I made some simple smart home gadgets with phidgets (http://www.phidgets.com/) that tried to use hidden markov models to recognize special events.  Those were fun days.  http://www.cc.gatech.edu/ael/projects.html

 

Later in my classes though I was attracted to his wife's (Elizabeth Mynatt) group's projects at the Aware Home.
